Balinese life :
Though the famous Balinese culture is Eastern Spiritual , they are in fact very ” earthy” people. They love to lough,joke, work their rice field, eat every kind of meat, and the men drink alcohol, smoke and cook fighting is their favorite ” sport ” altogether,the Balinese are a complex paradox……that covers the full spectrum of human qualities.
The Spiritual culture mostly imported from India, but the ground level of element of Balinese life are a product of their native environment . The Balinese are hereditary Malays,the unique brown – skinned people of the Malay peninsula , who migrated-south and populated most of the Indonesian archipelago.The Malay are of Mysterious origin - one theory being that they are mix of South East Asian and Indians. Whatever the origin, a highly attractive people were produced – at once well – grounded and mystically – oriented { both Hinduism and Buddhism were welcome by the Malays – later Islam came and originally presented itself in its most mystical form of Sufism }. The first European explorers who came to Bali were so enchanted they did not want to leave……or event conquer it. and the long – time colonist of Indonesia, The Dutch, treated Bali with surprise respect.
As with many society, the Balinese strength lies first with family.the deepest root of this foundation child – rearing….a loving function at which the Balinese enthusiastically excel. and what is more expressive of life than happy children ? They playful presence and native exuberance a dominant feature on this well – populated parasitical island..
The majority of nearly 3 million people still live in the village-and the fertile land. It is the success of this simple agrarian society that has always allowed the exotic Spiritual and artistic culture to express itself fully.This positive and inseparable combination is what makes Balinese life altogether attractive
